I love RVing because it's fun, because it gives me freedom to roam, because it's economical, and because it's comfortable and convenient.

Rving -- travel via recreation vehicle -- is one of the fastest-growing vacation trends in America.

According to industry studies, nearly 9 percent of American households in the 34-55 age group now own an RV. A somewhat higher percentage of those over 55 own RVs, and both numbers are growing.

Camping is the second most popular sporting activity in America, second only to football, and RVing can make even football more fun. An RV makes getting to the games easier, and a wait at the gate is simply an excuse to start the tail-gate party early. An RV provides the perfect home-base for a tail-gate party to top all tail gate parties.

As I mention in my blog , for many RVers, RVing is "camping for grownups". It must be mentioned, however, that for others, although I am not among them, RVing is "travel in a rolling condominium".

I love RVing because it's fun. Nothing else quite matches the sheer fun of tooling down the highway with hardly a care in the world. If there be cares, they are put are put on hold while batteries are recharged, and they do not include worry about finding a bathroom, a place to eat or where I'll sleep that night.

I love RVing because it gives me freedom to roam. I love being able to go where I want to go, when I want to go, and stay as long as I want to stay. I love being able to take the next turn in the road for a closer look at a herd of deer, a field of Bluebonnets, or a flock birds that just settled among the blooms.

I love RVing because it's economical. The initial cost of the RV aside (and that can be as inexpensive as the individual pocketbook demands) there are free and low-cost campgrounds all over the United States.

Food can be as inexpensive as at home, and fuel costs can be managed. With an RV, it's possible to "get away", without getting away... camping at a nearby park, when fuel costs are high, for example. That can make Rving among the least expensive of all vacations.

I love RVing because it's convenient and comfortable. The RV is always ready. I use my own bathroom, eat my own food, and sleep in my own bed each night.

There's no need to pack, to worry about getting to the airport on time, to lug my baggage across an airport, to watch helplessly as an airport inspector rummages though my personal things... or to worry about the germs left by the last guest or the careless housekeeper in a hotel room.
