Kalimpong - A Pristine Hill Station of India

Kalimpong is a scenic hill station which is situated in Darjeeling in West Bengal. This small town is at an elevation of 1250 m above the sea level. The beautiful hill station has an abundance of lush green forests along with dense tea plantations. The small town of Kalimpong is also bustling with big flower markets. Durpin Dara

This beautiful point in Kalimpong offers an amazing view of the rolling plains and Teesta valley. The outstanding range of Kanchendzonga can be seen on the northwest horizon. In the east you can see a panoramic view of the Chola range. Nestled here is a beautiful golf course which offers an enchanting view of gently rolling slopes.

Flower Nurseries

Kalimpong is popular for its flower nurseries where you can find exotic flowers. Some of the famous nurseries include Standard nursery, Brindaban Garden nursery and Universal nursery. The place boasts of a variety of beautiful flowers like orchids, amaryllis, roses, dahlias and lilies.

Teesta Bazaar

This bazaar is named after the popular river of Kalimpong. It is a shopping hub for tourists. Thongsha Gumpha

This is the oldest monastery of the area which was founded in 1692. In this spiritual centre you can find many Buddhist monks offering prayers. Neora Valley National Park

Established in the year 1986 this park is among the richest biological zones in the northeast zone of India. The wilderness zone is enriched with flora and fauna and dense woody trees. You can find here tiger, red panda, wild dog, gloral and Himalayan black bear.

Samco Ropeway

Samco Ropeway is located on the Siliguri highway which is 20 km from Kalimpong. It was constructed by Christian missionaries to spread the gospel. This ropeway offers an easy access to Samthar Plateau. It is 120 feet high and is situated over the famous rivers Teesta and Relli.
