How to make the wooden frame of the bed?

Beds

First, make a frame that will add to the appeal of your bedroom. Remember, it has to be of wood and therefore no metal block will compliment the pure wooden structure. First you need to make a frame that can be modified and planned into a structure that you want. But to make the plan go well, you have to know how to go about it.

A wooden bed adds to the show of your room. But wood has to be etched in the right proportion so as to ensure that you do not have to cut through the wood once again for better look. If you follow few procedures then you will know how to make the wooden bed that has a different show which can hardly match the look of the other materials, which may look good but does nor exude as much sophistication as wood.

Prefer to use the lag bolts in place of bedrail hangers. The lag bolts help to tighten the edges of the bed so that that the wood structure looks complete. If you see that the woods are fitting into places precisely, then cut the wood to place them in proper shapes. This will enable to make the wooden pieces look and seat tightly and the give the bed a complete look.

Make sure that the bedrail hangers are tightly secured with the head post and also the side rail. The screwing should be done tightly since that will ensure how well the project will be completed. The support block has to be attached to the foot rail and also the head rail. For this you need to cut a groove in it.

Now the post has to be attached to the rail. This is done by using the bedrail hanger. Once you are done with this, the support beam has to be placed tightly between the support blocks. Once, this is done place the plywood on the support beam and see how it rests exactly. Remember, the beds made out of wood exude the most sophisticated look and adds to the elegance of the room. It shows your taste for good things and how it will make your room look more beautiful

Hence, when you know how to make the bed frames it will be easy for you to complete the look of the bed made out of wood.

RV's - The Best Kept Travel Secret in America

What would you say if I told you I knew the best kept secret for traveling in America? A safe, cost effective, hassle-free way to see more of this beautiful country we live in. A way to travel at your own pace, on your own schedule, while building lasting memories with your family and friends. It sound too good to be true doesn't it? Wait, it gets even better. What if I told you it's not by plane, train, bus or your family automobile? Are you curious? Would you like to be let in on the secret that over 7 million households in America already discovered? If so, let me introduce you to the wonderful world of Recreation Vehicles (RVs) and camping.

I'm not talking about roughing it in the backwoods with tents and sleeping bags, not that there's anything wrong with camping like that. What I'm talking about is your home away from home. An RV is your living room, dining room, kitchen, bedroom and bathroom on wheels. Not to mention air conditioning, satellite TV, and being able to take a hot shower. An RV offers you the freedom to roam Americas back roads and the flexibility to go whenever and wherever you want. Imagine this, you wake up one weekend on a beautiful crisp fall morning and just outside your front door is a 20-acre lake full of hungry rainbow trout. How about a two-week summer vacation 50 yards away from the tranquil sound of waves breaking on the beach, or just a Saturday afternoon tailgate party at your favorite college football game. Your RV is a private guesthouse for relatives when they come to visit and a weekend getaway to your favorite campground.

ROM BEDS

It's a 30-day cross-country history lesson. It's whatever you want it to be and best of all it's fun and it's safe. Perhaps this slogan used in a Go RVing advertisement sums it up the best. Waiting for the fish to bite you wonder how smart your daughter has gotten and how much your son is starting to look like you and you wonder why you never noticed until now. But you might as well head back to camp; the fish seem to be as relaxed as you are. Rediscover your family while you discover America. Wherever you go you're always at home. Go RVing was formed in 1994 by representatives of the Recreation Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA), Recreation Vehicle Dealers Association (RVDA), National Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds (ARVC) and leading state RV and campground associations. Go RVing works to distribute information about the benefits of RV travel and ensure the quality of RV products and services. You can call 1-888-Go-RVing or visit the Go RVing website at http://www.gorving.com to get a free CD-ROM or video that will introduce you to the world of RV travel and camping.

Traveling in the United States and life in general changed dramatically after the cowardly terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001. A nation of people who always felt safe and secure against any type of outside threat, and a nation of travelers who never gave a second thought to their mode of transportation are now weary about what to expect next. RV travel, already at an all time high, is more appealing since the tragic events of 9/11. Recognized travel authority and former President of RVIA, Mr. David J. Humphreys had this to say, "Families want to escape to America's outdoors in these uncertain times, spend quality time together, and avoid hassles associated with flying-all long-term trends likely to sustain continued RV market growth."

U.S. ownership of RVs has reached record levels, reveals a 2005 University of Michigan study commissioned by Recreation Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA). Nearly one in 12 U.S. vehicle-owning households now owns an RV. That's nearly 8 million households-a 15 percent increase during 2001-2005 and a 58 percent gain during 1980-2005. The study also stated demographic trends favor substantial RV market growth. As baby boomers enter their prime RV buying years over the next decade, the number of RV-owning households is projected to rise to nearly 8 million in 2010, a gain of 15 percent, outpacing overall U.S. household growth of 10 percent. Other contributing factors to RV market growth are low interest rates, long term financing and the lure of the great outdoors. RVs can be financed for periods of 10, 15 and in some cases even 20 years, resulting in low monthly payments and tax deductible interest. RV vacations are more affordable than travel by personal car, commercial airline or cruise ship, according to vacation cost-comparison studies by PKF Consulting. Even factoring in RV ownership costs, and considering resulting tax benefits, a family of four can spend up to 70 percent less when traveling by RV.

What exactly is an RV? RVIA describes an RV as a vehicle that combines transportation and temporary living quarters for travel, recreation and camping. RVs come in many different types, sizes and price ranges. Some are very basic starting around $ 4,500 providing sleeping arrangements and cooking facilities. On the other end of the spectrum there are ,000,000 plus luxury land yachts on wheels.

RVs are categorized as either motorized or towable. Motorized RVs are built on a vehicle chassis and powered by either a gasoline or diesel engine. There are three classifications for motorized RVs, type A, B, and C. Type A motor homes are the largest of the three ranging from 25 to 45 feet. They are the ones you see that look similar to a bus, and depending on the price they can be equipped with features like washers and dryers, multiple slide out rooms, satellite dishes, home entertainment systems and much more. Type B motor homes are the smallest of the three ranging from 16 to 20 feet. They are conversion vans that have been modified and equipped with all of the comforts and amenities found in other RVs in a compact size. Type C motor homes also referred to as mini-motor homes are built on a cutaway van chassis and range in size from 20 to 31 feet.

Towable RVs are towed behind a vehicle then disconnected and set up when you arrive at your destination. This allows you the benefit of using the tow vehicle to make a trip to the store, or go sight seeing while you are camping. Towable RVs include folding camping trailers, truck campers, travel trailers and 5th wheel travel trailers. Folding camping trailers, often referred to as pop-ups, are the least expensive RV and the lightest in weight. Some pop-ups offer the basic essentials while others come equipped with features like a water heater, bathroom, furnace and refrigerator. When set up they can range in size from 15 to 24 feet. Truck campers are campers loaded onto the bed of a pickup truck. This makes for a very versatile RV that can access back roads and remote areas other RVs can't get to. Travel Trailers are a popular choice among RVers because of the wide array of floor plans available. Whether it's for two people or eight you can find a model that will suit your needs. They range in size from 15 to 35 feet and offer all the comforts of home. Fifth wheel travel trailers are the ones you see that extend over the bed of the pickup or custom tow vehicle. Because of their bi-level design 5th wheels offer the most living space of any towable RV and are often times the choice for full-timing RVers. They range in size from 21 to 40 feet.

Traveling by RV makes even more sense when you take into account there are over 16,000 campgrounds, both public and private, for RVers to use in the United States. We also have 367 national parks that offer over 400 campgrounds with 29,000 campsites and our 156 national forests offer more than 4,000 campgrounds. While you visit these campgrounds across the U.S. you don't need to be concerned about staying in touch with your family and business contacts. On a Travel Channel Program titled "Secrets of RVs" hosts and publishers of former RV Companion magazine, Mike and Beverly Wieber, discussed the latest technology for RVs involving in motion satellite systems and high speed Internet access. With this technology you can access online maps, travel information, and weather reports. More and more campgrounds are offering telephone connections as part of their full hook-up and the latest trend is to provide RVers with wireless high speed Internet access at the campground.

If you're concerned about purchasing an RV only to find out the RV lifestyle is not meant for you try renting one before you buy. There are over 400 national rental chain outlets and RV dealerships that rent all types of RVs. Another way to learn more about RVs is to attend a local RV retail show or visit an RV dealer near you. For more information about rentals, RV shows, and RVs in general visit http://www.RVIA.org. To locate an RV dealer check your yellow pages or visit http://www.rvda.org. So what are you waiting for? Come join the other 30 million RV enthusiasts in America and remember wherever you go you're always at home.
Happy Camping,

Washington Redskins Over-the-Hill Gang 1971-1972

The Washington Redskins was the team I loved to hate back in the seventies. When George Allen took over the Washington Redskins, he held the philosophy that said The future is now. Thus he acquired many veteran players to fill his roster, instead of waiting for the younger players to bloom.

hillsdale bar stools

And what a laundry list of old stars he got: Billy Kilmer, Marlin McKeever, Jack Pardee, Myron Pottios, Maxie Baughan, Diron Talbert, John Wilbur (yes, this list is thick with recycled Rams - George's old team), Clifton "Sticks" McNeil, Boyd Dowler, Richie Petitbon, Alvin Haymond, Speedy Duncan & big Ron McDole.

HILL

The average age of his starters was 31, and his plan paid big dividends, as the Skins finished second in the East at 9-4-1 in 1971 and won the East & went to the Super Bowl only to lose to the unbeaten Dolphins the next year.

I admit, as a Dallas Cowboys fan, I hated George and the Redskins back then. George was just too prissy and too much like football's Richard M. Nixon for my taste. Still, there was nothing like that rivalry back then, George matching wits with Tom Landry. Those two games between them each season were just nail-biters for me - wondering, among other things, Would Larry Brown be able to be contained on the ground and Charley Taylor through the air? Would Calvin Hill and rugged Walt Garrison be able to bust through the Redskins' stingy defensive line?

Today, I would give anything to turn back the clock and have old George squatting down on the sideline, maniacally licking his thumbs the way he always did, so I could love to hate him just once more. Here's to you, George Allen, and to your great Over-the-hill gang.

Lauryn Hill has been a super star in the R & B genre for quite a while now and Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill is an excellent illustration as to why.

Alternatives to Folding Beds

While it would be inaccurate to say that 100% of people who have slept in folding beds have experienced temporary or not so temporary back problems as a result, it most likely wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that the majority of people who have slept in one have experienced pain or discomfort. Guest beds and folding beds have unfortunately been lumped together, with the result that some people think that portable folding beds are fine for people to sleep in. The truth is, most such beds are designed to be cheap and lightweight so that they can take up less storage space when not in use. There is nothing in most designs that is intended to make for a good night's sleep, however. My advice to those looking for folding beds for sale is to consider one of the alternatives, any one of which will be far superior in most regards.

bedskirt

To start out with, you might already have the solution for extra sleeping space in your home. A sofa, especially one of the modern sofas with broad seat cushions, can be used for sleeping on as is. Indeed, someone finally realized that nobody wants to sleep in pull-out sleeper sofa and instead made the regular seats more suitable for sleeping on. Those who are buying new furniture can consider one of these sleeper sofas in place of a guest bed. A futon couch that doubles as a bed can work just as well, if not better, provided the frame is of good quality and offers adequate support. Usually wooden frames are good, while cheap metal frames are to be avoided.

Beds

Don't overlook the floor as a sleeping space, as there are simple ways to make a night on the floor a very comfortable affair. First, place a sheet of some kind over the floor. Then, provide a sleeping pad of choice- a simple futon mattress can work, and thin mattresses are easily rolled up for storage, taking up less space than a folding bed. A camping pad can really work great, especially inflatable ones where the air volume, and thus support, can be adjusted. These thin air mattresses are all that's necessary for a perfect level of support, and the air also insulates against cold floors in a way that thin foam pads and mattresses cannot.

Are You Standing on Solid Rock?

You've no doubt heard the expression that once you've been severely tested, you'll know what stuff you're made of. In other words, when everything is going well and you've never had a formidable challenge, you won't really know how you would react, would you? You might tell yourself that you know what you would do and even be convinced of a victorious outcome. However, how could you really know until you're face to face with life's challenges?

During the past week or so a succession of several minor setbacks were strewn across my path. First, my miniature poodle passed away suddenly, but peacefully due to old age. It was really a blessing, even though I still had to go through the emotions. Several days later our laundry room was inundated by a downpour from the busted water heater. It took two days to be replaced as an electrician had to first be called in. Then, this morning I did the unimaginable. I locked myself out of the house with my invalid husband in bed, unable to get up by himself!

ROM BEDS

None of the above mishaps were earth shattering in the grand theme of things. It's the emotions that get in the way. Your first reaction is: "What now?" and "How do I get out of this mess?" In all these instances the first thing I did was start praising the Lord and thanking Him for the solution. O.K., in all honesty it was not instantly! I know from experience and the Word that your circumstances will turn around if you:

"Sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare His works with rejoicing." (Ps. 107: 22)

With your mind focused on the Lord, you will begin to feel His love and peace envelope you. You can really feel it. It's best to go for a walk or sit in a quiet place. Your body may initially feel numb and tired, and you feel like curling up into a ball and hibernating somewhere until it's over. Then, suddenly, His voice reaches through the fog of confusion in your mind:

"Look unto the rock whence you are hewn, and to the hole of the pit whence you are digged." (Isa. 51: 1)

Oh my goodness. Thanks for your revelation, Lord! I'm no longer tired, listless, down or depressed! How could I be: I am cut from the Rock, Christ Jesus! (1 Cor. 10: 4) He already took my confusion and distress on the cross. He was pierced in the side for me so that I may be a conqueror!

"We are more than conquerors through him that loved us." (Rom. 8: 37)

If He is the Rock, then you may be a tiny pebble. But be assured; you're not shifting sand that can be washed away! You are part of the Rock! He is your strength, your shield, your salvation and your peace. You can do all things through Him who strengthens you! (Phil. 4: 13)

It's also very important to remember the hole you were in before you accepted Him as your Savior. It will bring all your present problems into perspective! Whenever you consider where you may have been and the miracles He has already done in your life, praise and thanksgiving will come pouring out. It won't be hard to get started!

Giving in to your negative emotions may eventually lead to depression. But, once you recognize what you're made of and, more specifically, Whose you are, your emotional and spiritual mood will be lifted. Before long you will be able to soar over your problems.

The Good News of the Gospel is really so simple. If you know Jesus Christ, then you're part of His body and all His Promises are yours for the taking! Consider what stuff you're made of and don't forget where you came from. Whatever comes your way, big or small, you will be able to overcome together with Him! You're rock solid if you are firmly planted on the Rock!

Love Is All You Need... Or Is It?

This week I finally got round to watching "The Wedding Date" an enjoyable -if slight - romantic comedy.

The plot, for anyone not familiar with it, has reluctant singleton Debra Messing attending her step-sister's wedding with a male "escort", Dermot Mulroney, [who combines perfect eye-candy looks with gentlemanly charms and a comprehensive fee per service policy.

ROM BEDS

The Messing character needs to have Mulroney in tow because her ex, who inexplicably dumped her, is the best man.

The action is simple and predictable: girl meets boy, girl and boy connect at some profound yet unclear level, they fall into bed together, argue, break up and then end up back together, all smiles and tears while we the audience buy into the idea of them toddling off into the sunset of Happily Ever After.

This is indeed the stuff of "rom com" and romance, according to The Oxford English Reference dictionary, is about "an atmosphere or tendency characterized by a sense of remoteness from or idealization of everyday life". Quite. Except that we don't entirely suspend disbelief even when we are watching romantic comedies.

At some point, every one of us has longed for that fuzzy ultimate feel-good sense of being regarded as the perfect inhabitant of a perfect world by our perfect partner.

Whatever the problem is, love is the answer. Love is all you need, after all. So Mulroney is a male sex worker. Not a problem. He gets all the best lines, from the philosophical: "You get the relationships you want", to " I think I'd miss you even if we'd never met" and this line that would sit well in the mouth of any abuser: "I'd rather fight with you than make love with anyone else."

Aaah! And yuk! Aaah because both leads are so good looking (and toned and well dressed) that they're just bound to be happy together ever. Yuk because flimsy love stories still impact on our psyche at the subliminal level, teaching us that you can build strong relationships on hopelessly inadequate foundations.

Sooner or later, we all try it, are amazed when it doesn't work and punish ourselves. Often before repeating the same process with the self-same outcome.

Michael Gerber's "The E-Myth Revisited" - Why Most Small Businesses Don't Work And What To Do About It" urges business owners to develop strong visions for their companies.

How does that translate to women, and men, who want to be build successful relationships? Surprisingly well.

Since we are all, first and last, flawed human beings, our design flaws in any one area of life are likely to impact on other areas also. And so it is that Gerber's comments about replacing assumptions (and aspirations and dreams) with clear-sighted strategies relate to our emotional world also.

Gerber writes:

"Most of us have had the experience of being disappointed by someone in whom we have put our trust... trust alone can only take us so far.

Trust alone can set us up to repeat those same disappointing experiences. (my italics)

Because true trust comes from knowing, not from blind faith.

And to know, one must understand.

And to understand, one must have an intimate awareness of what conditions are truly present. What people know and what they don't. What people do and what they don't. What people want and what they don't. How people do what they do and how people don't. Who people are and who they aren't."

It becomes possible to develop 'an intimate awareness of what conditions are truly present' when you are prepared to leave on hold the romantic justification: "Love is all you need" for as long as it takes to work through the various stages of relationship building - which Gerber defines as 'Infancy', 'Adolescence', 'Beyond the Comfort Zone' and 'Maturity'.

"And how am I supposed to manage that, Clever Clogs?" you might be wondering. Once again, Gerber has a useful answer - if you are prepared to replace the term "relationship" with "business".

Gerber talks at length about working on the business rather than in the business - a fascinating concept for anyone who has ever spent time trying to pick up the broken pieces of a relationship in the wake of a partner's abusive outburst.

Gerber says:

"Simply put, your job is to prepare yourself and your business for growth.

To educate yourself sufficiently so that, as your business grows, the business's foundation and structures can carry the additional weight.

And as awesome a responsibility as that may seem to you, you have no other choice - if your business is to thrive, that is." (my italics)

Having spoken with hundreds of abused women over the years, I can say with confidence that abusive men do not change their spots. They may use concealer when you first meet and fall for them, and their spots may proliferate over time, but still those spots are there from the start.

The Love-is-all-you-need approach will blind you to the spots. Working from the outset at establishing a foundation of reciprocal care, respect and equality will quickly enable you to see the face behind the concealer.

I've yet to encounter an abuser who can manage selflessness for longer than it takes to earn a few vital brownie points. And even then they don't just do it, they make a 10 course banquet of it.

Nor do abusers 'do' solid foundations. Love is all they need. What they term love - over time increasingly a justification for all manner of bad behaviour- is most unlikely to be all you need.

That said, would I turn down the chance to parade Dermot Mulroney at a family function? No way. He would add a whole new dimension to a forthcoming bash at a Kosher Chinese restaurant in suburban London (truly!).

But I'd like to think that if he came out with a killer line like: "I'd rather fight with you etc.etc.", I'd do the honourable thing and drag the sole of my hobnail boot along his shin. Hard. Because I'm not too sure where a line like that would fit with my compelling long-term vision of a possible relationship.
