Your Tongue, a Mighty Warrior's Weapon

Proverbs 18:21 tells us, "Life and death are in the power of the tongue."

In Job 22:28, we read: "You will also declare a thing, and it will be established for you." Since God is no respecter of persons, we should all claim that verse for ourselves! We should declare the will of God to the invisible world of the heavenlies and directly to God Himself. It seems that God has chosen to use human speech as the medium for His will to be "prayed through" and "prayed into existence."

I have come to view humanity as a massive herd of gazelle. The lion prowls about looking for the young, old, vulnerable, set-apart... and he pounces. Too many believers are SO ill-prepared or unaware of the fight referred to as "spiritual Warfare."

Lately, I find myself encouraging the saints to wake up on OFFENSE at the start of every day rather than waiting for an attack so they can play defense and start praying, crying and asking for help. No, let's get out of bed swinging! Every one of us has SO much incredible potential but far too many go to their graves loaded with that same potential. If the same Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead lives within us (Rom 8:11). We have some incredible tail-kicking power within us!

So, start making some declarations! Following are a few of my own declarations that I vocalize every single day:

I declare that the blessings of God are overtaking me and my household.

I declare that me and my family will serve God and that we have an insatiable desire to know Christ and to know His Word.

I declare that we walk in Divine Health, in Divine Safety, in Divine Providence and that no weapon forged against us will prosper.

I declare that all the blessings of Abraham belong to us... we are blessed coming in going out; we are above and not beneath, we are the head and not the tail, we are blessed in the city and blessed in the country.

I declare Divine Health over this family.

I declare that I am forgiven, I am whole. I am complete and I lack nothing.

I declare the Spirit of the Lord has come upon me and that I am anointed to preach good news to the poor. I declare that I have been sent to heal the broken-hearted and that I am proclaiming liberty to the captives, opening prison doors to those who are bound and proclaiming the Lord's favor to ALL!

Hang it on your bathroom mirror. I'm sure you can come up with some declarations of your own.
